Washington Park

Welcome to Washington Park

Washington Park is one of Denver’s most sought-after neighborhoods. Commonly referred to as “Wash Park,” this community is named after the enormous park in the center of the neighborhood. From the outdoor enthusiasts to the trendsetters, this residential neighborhood provides a verdant, peaceful home just minutes away from downtown Denver.

What to love

  • Massive park with two lakes
  • A hub of outdoor fitness
  • A beautiful mixture of the old and new

Local lifestyle

Residents of Washington Park can often be found outside hiking, biking, running with pets, paddling on the lakes, playing volleyball, or practicing yoga in the park. The park itself has two sculpted flower gardens adorning the paved pathways and is a beautiful place to sit and read or spend time with friends and family.

As you walk the streets of Washington Park, you will notice the late 19th-century bungalows, early 20th-century Victorian houses, and luxurious modern new builds sitting on well-maintained lots. The community has a small-town feel, making it hard to believe you are in the heart of Denver. The residents of this community love this historical presence and work hard to preserve the culture of their neighborhood via festivals and block parties.

DINING, ENTERTAINMENT, & SHOPPING

Historic South Gaylord Street is Denver’s second-oldest shopping district and a local favorite for shopping, dining, and community festivities. Featuring locally owned boutiques, salons, spas, restaurants, and art galleries, Gaylord Street has it all.

Reiver’s Bar and Grill is one of Washington Park’s favorite pubs. This restaurant serves traditional pub fare alongside its drink menu, which includes exclusive cocktails, local craft beers, and selected wines. Stop in for delicious treats and dine on their patios to enjoy the beautiful atmosphere of Washington Park.

For tasty Mexican fare, visit Perdida. Invoking the laid-back and delicious Baja atmosphere, this chic restaurant will whisk you away with its bright, airy dining room and the sounds of waves.

The Wash Park Grille prepares modern Italian classics with the help of local farmers and organic suppliers. Their posh lounge is the perfect complement to their elegant dishes, signature cocktails, and live entertainment.

Things to do

The Mile High United Way Turkey Trot is held annually in Washington Park. This run is a Thanksgiving tradition in Denver and has helped to raise money for the community for almost 50 years. If you would rather walk with a friend, consider the Furry Scurry, another Wash Park charity tradition that raises money for homeless pets and horses.

For outdoor fun on the lake, visit Washington uPark Boathouse. This iconic Denver location offers paddle boats and specialty bikes for rent and provides a shady spot to escape the sun in Washington Park. Venture further into the park itself and visit Washington Park Mount Vernon Garden, a replica of George Washington’s personal gardens.
